A Contributor

Here's a little addendum to the Interview Magazine editorial I just posted. Continuing on with the trend of model emerging as a personality in her own right, Freja's featured in the "contributors" section of the magazine:

Even if the model appears in the main editorial, she doesn't always get this spotlight. In fact, it's more a rarity than a common occurrence. I think the models that get this feature are ones like Kate Moss, Lara Stone and Daria Werbowy. So no matter how inconsequential something like this may seem, I think it's a pretty big deal and speaks loudly of Freja's rising status as a model.

She was in the contributors' section of Vogue Paris (June/July 10) also. And yes, I've been enjoying the recent onslaught of her works for it doth tease me out of many thoughts. If anything can be derived from the "Modern Love" editorial, it is the implied polygamy between the two "lovers" and the camera. It seems as though validation and visibility by the lens are deemed by both as being more desirable than her luscious eyes or his loose embrace alone. Quite emblematic of this Twitter obsessed generation if I may dare add.

^Do you know if her VP bit says anything of any particular interest? And very interesting thought! The interplay of gazes inside and outside of a photograph is something that always interests me. I wish I had noticed it more in the editorial, but I guess I was too preoccupied with the beauty of the images. So thanks for your comment!

"Hermès, Miu Miu, Chanel, Chloé… Depuis son arrivée, la Danoise Freja Beha, 23 ans, s’est imposé sur les podiums les plus en vue. Son secret: des mensurations parfaits (1,78 m, 79/60/89), un visage au charme androgyne et un caractère forgé par l’écoute assidue de toute l’histoire du rock, de PJ Harvey à Jack White. Résultat: Freja est comme chez elle dans Vogue. Et cela se voit, p. 132."
