New Directions? Collaborators?

Paris is nearly over and Freja is there in full force, but the biggest story for me is her appearance at two shows this week. Hakaan and Givenchy, to be specific.

The last time Freja walked for Givenchy was back during the F/W 07/08 season. Four years later she shows up once again on Tisci's catwalk, also having walk for the first time in Hakaan's runway show earlier in the week.

Now what's so interesting about this you might ask? It's no secret that both Hakaan and Ricardo have the blessing and heavy backing of photographers Mert & Marcus and Carine Roitfeld. So what does it mean that Freja showed up at both shows this season? And all of this in light of Carine's recent resignation and uncertain future placement? Maybe nothing at all, other than a simple casting decision. But I'd like to think it means something more in regards to Freja's future editorial and campaign bookings.

Just something to think about and mull over on this Sunday afternoon. Castings in Paris have seemed unpredictable all week so I'm not saying this means anything at all. On the other hand, it would be nice to see another new direction for Freja's career, and new collaborators for her to work with.

I was also a bit surprised by her appearance at Haider Ackermann. I cannot remember the last time she walked his show, certainly not during the last few seasons. I always looked forward to seeing her in his clothes. I felt like his elaborate draping and the slight masculine undertone to his collection would suit Freja. Was very delighted to see her there. Also, any clue if she was only available via special request so maybe that makes these casting decisions even more special.

^Good question. Wish I knew the answer definitively. I'm guessing at this point in her career, Freja's a direct booking, which is different from special request. I don't believe she goes on castings anymore....I would be surprised if she did. So I think it's a good sign she walked these shows, but I don't think it's extra special or anything.

Weird...she wasn't at Stella McCartney. She's usually there. Surprising.

and she wasn't at isabel marant too.if i'm not mistaken.anyway, i love seeing her doing shows that she never did before and appears back after a long time on certain shows.

She wasn't at Isabel Marant because it conflicted with Lanvin. The models that were at Lanvin weren't at Isabel and viceversa

Did Freja also opened Chanel? I read on twitter that she did.
