Dedicated?

The FW1011 issue of the Vogue Paris Collections is seemingly dedicated to Freja. At least that's what you can surmise by looking at the cover above. Army of Frejas in the foreground, huge Freja face looming in the background. All Freja, all the time. I'm not complaining, but I do find it very strange. The cover images for these issues are usually divided between many different models, so I wonder why this one is all Freja?

Perhaps we can expect something else big coming up? Like a cover? Perhaps Carine et al are anointing Freja as the new Daria and so we can expect to see her shot by Inez and Vinoodh for every issue? Perhaps someone at VP is a huge Freja fan like we are? Or perhaps they're just trying to capitalize on the Freja-mania that seems to be so prevalent of late? Am I missing any "perhaps's"? What do you think?

yeah it's really strange!!!! but i think freja is the model of this season so it's natural that she's in cover of vogue collections.
lovelovelove frejaaa <3

Wow. I always get Vogue Paris Collection anyway, but even if I didn't, I would've so gotten this one lol. They found the most unattractive closeup though, I didn't like how the Van Noten makeup looked, the eyebrows were too strong. A closeup from Chloe or Balmain would've looked nicer imo.

But yeah what does it mean? I really think it's a VP cover. She's deserves to get one though, same with Raquel (but Raquel deserves it more lol)

^Yeah, I agree about the Dries makeup and eyebrows. Out of all the beautiful closeups they could have picked, they pick this one? And YES to Raquel deserving the cover more. I love Freja but Raquel not having that cover is a complete and utter travesty and injustice. I'm still so shocked that she doesn't have one yet. Like wtf?

Or from Celine. Something more natural looking, that's when Freja looks the best.

Raquel to me is the few examples of what it is to be a true supermodel. She's been around for such a long time, and she delivers in every editorial and cover. I don't know what's in Carine's head. She needs to dedicate a whole issue to Raquel at this point.

i hope she gets a vogue paris cover! she deserves one for sure. still upset with the vogue italia cover - its the least favorite image of freja for me.
the army of freja on vogue paris collectons is great - whatever is the reason behind it. its probably a subtle nod and recognition of freja's versatility and her popularity at the moment.

Wow another freja recognition, this is amazing hopefully there's a mind blowing editorial inside. Good job for freja. And as for Raquel she has one if the most outstanding modeling careers ever, I'm sure any model who's ever had a VP cover would give it up just to achieve half of what Raquel has. And let's face it is only a matter of time before she gets her cover.

^Vogue Paris Collection issues don't have editorials. They just showcase designer looks from the past season with runway shots. So no, Freja won't have an ed inside. :)

Excellent start to my saturday. Look like a fan made Vogue Paris cover, which I don't mind considering it's all about Freja. I loved her look at Dries so i approve of their choice of background. Like you said, hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Crazy and cool at the same time! Has a cover like this been done before, with one model?

I don't agree that Raquel deserves a cover more than Freja. She's been around for 11 seasons, at the top and one of the most popular models around, so I can't say that anyone deserves this or that more than her. If Freja was some newbie then I'd agree, but she's earned her spot. That said, I am surprised that Raquel doesn't have a VP cover. I'm even more surprised that Mariacarla Boscono doesn't have a VI cover!

Actually, the fact that Raquel has been in the business longer and has yet to be featured on the VP cover is exactly the reason why she deserves it more than Freja. I am becoming more and more certain that Freja will be one the VP cover again (in the near future) and quite deservedly so. But I also hope that Raquel gets to enjoy that privilege some day. Also, lack of VI cover MCB is very surprising considering she is italian.

@kunklebunkle: I think someone mentioned that they did a Collections cover with just MCB a few seasons ago. So yes, I guess it has been done before.

@endia: I didn't mean to imply that I think Freja isn't deserving. Of course she is...actually, a lot of models are imo. But Raquel is the most deserving to me as she's been in the business a decade, consistently working at the top the entire time. She's professional, extremely well liked by everyone in the industry, has zero attitude and is just a really great model. So yes, Raquel deserves the cover more than Freja. But Freja deserves it too. :) So hopefully at least one of them will get it soon.

I'm not arguing that she isn't deserving. Raquel is one of my favs, and has an ed in just about every VP that's been printed, so I am shocked that she's never had a cover.

I'm just saying Freja has payed her dues, just like her finally getting a VI cover and an ed in American V, so I can't agree that she isn't as deserving as Raquel. When I see newbies on the covers of Vogue mags, then this argument can be made, but not against someone like Freja.

This is strange. Maybe this cover is fake. There's been quite a few fake covers going around the Internet. Most recently the debut issue of INDUSTRIE Magazine...

@endia: Yes, Freja has paid her dues, but so has Raquel. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I just don't understand how you can think they're both equally deserving when Raquel has never been on a cover and has been working twice as long. Freja started working when Raquel had already been working 5 years, and Freja already has a VP cover. I know it wasn't a solo girl cover, but it was still a cover.

I feel like this is an argument that can made using any model (including Freja, not just newbies) because no one has been working as hard and as prominently as Raquel has for the past decade. And to my mind, no one is deserving of a cover more, especially considering the relationship she has with the magazine and the work she's produced for them over the years. Perhaps we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Oh and on top of that. I will be searching for the VP in borders tomorrow. I also agree that Raquel needs to get a cover ALREADY! JEEZ. But I wonder if it is because she is SO well known that she loses the "untouchable aesthetics". But no matter what, Raquel deserves it more than anyone else. She looks absolutely fabulous even after 10 years. She does not look dated at all. To me, Gisele is although very gorgeous, she does not look right now to me. But Raquel still does.
